She was extremely boring, completely one noted. If I liked evolution even a little before, after this class I hate it. All of her slide shows are aimed for an eight grade reading level and a fourth grade understanding. She Is the most uninteresting vanilla teacher I have ever had. Honestly I am appalled that this is the best CSU can do for a professor.

Pros: She is a very nice professor and knows what she is talking about. If you go in for office hours she explains everything and is great at helping one-on-one.
Cons: She moves really fast in lectures. I recommend going in for office hours.

Pros: Lots of resources to succeed in the course.
Cons: 3 Exams. Final is comprehensive. None are dropped or curved.
I'm currently enrolled in BZ 220 & I think Lisa is a good teacher. I took her course for Life 103 & if she'd taught the entire course, I would have gotten an A in the class. She gives good feedback & study guides (not to mention the book) to help you study. She basically tells you the answers to questions on the exams when they are based from iClicker Questions & the previous exams posted on Koofers were very helpful, a lot of the questions on our exams came from those. The homework is actually helpful (Sometimes pointless) & not quite difficult (I usually finish them less than 30 minutes) but she drops your lowest homework score. The Clicker Questions are nice to write down, & are low perssue since you can ask your neighbor if you're unsure. I'm expecting an A in this course. If you go to class, fill in the lecture notes & do the study guides you should definitely get an A.

Pros: Nice
Easy to Understand
Uses various examples
Focuses on the point (not overly wordy)
She is fantastic! She is so sweet and knows her "stuff" too. She's always willing to make sure every single person understands a topic thoroughly and in general it is a relaxed class! I highly suggest taking a class from her, you won't regret it!

Pros: Easy to understand. Sets time aside for students.
Cons: Class may be a little to big and can be hard to listen if you're not sitting at the front few rows.
Great professor! Easy to listen to and to understand. Follow up with the study guides and the exams are relatively easy.

Pros: Lisa is a good teacher, she gets real excited about reproduction portion of the class, She is a fair grader. Clicker points make the class very manageable, you should get all the points. Its 1/4 point for answering and 1/4 point for getting it correct, you can miss 5 points (10 questions) and still get your full clicker points if you go to class.
Cons: This class is not Lisa's passion or her best class, but she is still a good teacher.
There are 9 homework assignments out of 10 points and one is dropped. The final is cumlative. The quizzes I refer to are the clicker points.

Pros: Presents material slowly and clearly
Cons: Relies too much on powerpoint, making it hard to focus
Angeloni is a clear presenter, so it's not hard to get an A in her class. However, there are not that many tests so you also can't afford to slack on studying for any of them. She just gets boring at times, but it's very manageable.

Pros: Posts her power point notes and rarely strays from the topic
Cons: Leaves parts of notes missing to maintain class attendance, which wouldn't be a problem if the blanks were made available to students with legitamate reasons to miss class

Though the class itself is extremely dry and boring, and while on some days it seems like your pillow needs a pillow, Lisa does a good job of trying to keep students interested and she is pretty enthusiastic about the course. Also if you go to her office hours she is very helpful in answering your questions.

I though Lisa was a fantastic teacher, she really wants to relay her material. I joined the class a week late and she worked with me to catch me up, and made sure I had all the right materials. Even though she might not be able to answer all students questions off the top of her head, she would make a point of researching the question and coming back with an answer at the beginning of the next class period. Dr. Angeloni teaches half of the course with the focus on animal systems and phylums. Her tests relate to her lectures, if you attend class and read the book you should do fine

Pros: Better than the second teacher that stepped in for class
Cons: Doesn't post slides
In my class the professors ( Bush and Angeloni ) switched up the class and did animals before plants... bad idea. The lab was completely off.

I took Into to Evo with Angeloni spring semester 2010 and really enjoyed the class. It was a little more basic than I was hoping, but she did a good job of making the topics interesting. No one I know disliked her as a teacher and her tests were not that tough. Overall, a good course and a good teacher.

Overall, Dr. Angeloni was a good professor. She presented the material clearly and was willing to explain things multiple times until students understood. There were 9 homework assignments (lowest HW grade is dropped) that are fairly easy and come straight from the lectures. The exams were all multiple choice/true-false and follow the material pretty well. I did not buy the textbook and did not miss it. My only criticism of the course was that it was soooo slooow (fitting, though), I think mainly because it was 200 level.

Pros: knew her stuff and with a moderate level of effort tried to make the class interesting.
Cons: She lowers the lights in a always warm room...staying awake is what affected my grade the most in this class. interesting topic but she is a little passive so talks really soft and monotoned.

For being such a controversial course, Lisa taught evolution objectively and fairly. She was respective of student beliefs throughout the semester. She was also very friendly towards even those more difficult students who seem to have an irrelevant question nearly every day, yet she remained on task. We did get behind on the syllabus, but she only tested material that was actually covered in lecture. There were clicker quizzes in class, but she offered more than enough to be able to get the maximum points, so there wasn't a penalty for attendance if you only missed a few classes. Tests were all multiple choice.

Angeloni is a good professor... but the class is very boring. You have to go to class to get all the material, and if you do that, the tests are a breeze. The weekly homework is a pain in the neck, but also very easy.

Angeloni is a terrible teacher. She is a horribly boring lecturer, and the way she presents the material makes it hard to learn. She uses powerpoint slides and also makes them available for downloading from WebCT, but she erases the text of the slides so you have to go to class and fill it in. However, she can't deviate from her slides at all otherwise she gets horribly lost. She doesn't know how to answer any questions at all. The material is not hard; this is a pretty easy class. However, Angeloni is not a good teacher for this class. Find someone else to take it from.

I thought Angeloni was great. She had really organized notes & always tried to present info so you could understand. I found her class interesting and informative. The material did get overwhelming towards the end with the culmative final, but overall great class & I would definitely recommend taking it with her. I had previously tried to take the course in the Fall with Webb & Simmons- Warning: Don't do it!... Angeloni makes everything much easier to understand.

Dr. Angeloni is a very good professor. She is quite an intellictual in this field. In every lecture, she spent time to answer any questions, which often put her behind her lecture schedule. She went above and beyond her call of duty to make sure everyone understood the material. You do have to go to the lectures because the highlighted material she presents are the answers to the questions on the tests!!! So go to lecture and take notes, and you will get an A.
